This Spring, Soweto Theatre heats your seat with the soulful voice of multi-talented artist Bheki Nqoko, a well versed, multi-functional, self-producing recording label owner and one of a kind music mogul in the making.
September 9th sees Nqoko performing at the Soweto Theatre in collaboration with a few of his musical friends, accomplished artists such as Kunle Ayo, Phinda Matlala, Henry Philemon, S’bu Malawyer, Sbu Dludlu and Tracey. It promises to be an evening of sheer musical pleasure and entertainment; the appropriate warm up dish to chase away the last of the winter chills.
In the past Bheki has worked with greats such as Mbongeni Ngema, Jonas Gwangwa, the late Busi Mhlongo, Ringo Madlingozi, the late Brenda Fassie, Rebecca Malope, Kelly Khumalo, Siphokazi , Vusi Nova, Ndoh Dlamini, Sibongile Mngoma, Sibongile Khumalo, Themba Mkhize and many others.
The opportunity of working with such formidable talent has nurtured him greatly, it is a significant part of the foundation on which he stands today. “I believe Mam Busi saw something in me, and Ringo Madlingozi just has an eye for potential. Their valuable guidance and pointers created what I am now, and I appreciate that my peers agree with those who have guided me.” Says Nqoko. Having had exposure to the various facets of music recording, Bheki single handedly created his works from start to finish. Composing, producing, engineering and administration – he is hands on in every aspect of the production, meeting his goal of being a musician who is also an avid businessman.
Nqoko will be presenting ‘refreshing and invigorating’ projects ‘Made in Ntuzuma‘ and ‘Kuwe‘ created under his own record label ‘Kuwe Records’. Audiences can expect to hear evergreen hits such as Kuwe, Akenzanga lutho, his latest collaboration single “Na Me And You” with Kunle Ayo and more tunes that are guaranteed to stay with you way after the concert hall closes.
Don’t miss this exceptional musical magician in Soweto’s heart of creativity. He says he has the blessings of South Africa’s great – come be the judge of that!
