How African languages have been made out to be barbaric and English has been made out to define intelligence and modernity.
This event is not so much of resistance but rather about creating awareness and complaint about the loss of the genuine identity of the African people and the importance of us embracing our languages and not the white man’s language.
I feel this event covers the most important problem that the continent is facing and has been facing for decades and even in the near future it will continue.
This event will serve as a wake-up call to Africans both young and old and the best way to celebrate Heritage month.
