Maison Dela Dance embarks on a journey to present its third production “NutCracked in Soweto” for its student’s end of year dance production 2018.
Maison Dela Dance Project runs Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus to young kids aged between 5 to 14 years old every Friday, Saturday and Sunday andContemporary Dance to adults aged 18 to 25 years on daily bases.
At the end of each year, Maison Dela Dance selects and extract from any famous ballets and stage it as an End of Year production that encompasses Classical Ballet as well as Contemporary Dance. This is a sign of gratitude for our students’ achievements in 2018.
Three performances will be staged at the Soweto Theatre on the15th and 16th December 2018. Tickets are sold at Maison Dela Dance project Studios, Soweto Theatre and Webtickets at R100.00 including programme for Adults and R60.00 children.
The theme “The NutCracked in Soweto” is inspired by Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker reworked and Directed by Tumi Mogope as the “Opening” and Johan Straus’ The Great Waltz Choreographed by Ellington Mazibuko as the “Finale”. There is also a melting pot of other works such as Neo-Classical Ballet, Spanish Dance, Character Dance and Contemporary Dance. This is just to showcase the strength of our students as they prepare for examinations early 2019.
