Step Afrika! celebrates 30 years in a ground-breaking production at the Soweto Theatre. South African and African American dancers will unite in a vibrant fusion of rhythm and culture, demonstrating how two rich cultural heritages come together in perfect harmony.
Founded at the Orlando East YMCA in Soweto in December, 1994, by Moeketsi Koena, Thembinkosi Hlathswayo, C. Brian Williams, and Jacob Mbuyiselwa Semela, the historic Step Afrika! International Cultural Festival served thousands of children and artists with critically-acclaimed workshops, masterclasses, field trips and performances for many years.
