Flavour, music, aromas, colours – get ready to feed your senses as Seven Colour Sundays makes its way back to our calendars. This most delectable event on the food and music scene is back at the Soweto Theatre every last Sunday of the month from 12PM-9PM.

Seven Colour Sundays is Soweto’s 1st Food Market and has been taking place every last Sunday of the month at Soweto Theatre for the past 5 years. It has become one of South Africa’s favourite events and markets and is set to bring back the Magic after months of no shows due to lockdown regulations.

From the food stalls available to the interactive marquees, lovers of entertainment can look forward to enjoying good music from some of SA’s top Bands and DJ’s from Judy Jay, Fifi, Schots and many others. Indulge in a mile of mouth-watering food stalls offering an almost infinite selection of flavours and aromas to satisfy every palate and spend the weekend with friends and family overlooking the Soweto landscape.

“Seven Colour Sundays is fast becoming one of Jozi’s favourite food  market, not only does it offer a vibe to remember but offers up and coming enterprenuers an opportunity to showcase their offerings, sell their products whilst growing the local economy,”​ says Simphiwe Twala project manager and organizer.

The event has become a great platform for local Entrepreneurs to showcase their original concepts from food, music and clothing with each event hosting more than 15 stalls selling very tasty delicacies.

It has witnessed the birth of small businesses that are becoming forces to be reckoned with from Native Rebels, Kota King and Ma Miya just to name a few. They have really have grown from having just one table to setting up restaurants around the county.

Seven Colour Sunday is not only meant to entertain but to promote and drive entrepreneurship within the creative industry and in our local township economy. Not only has it been successful in its course but shares a great deal of success stories.

Bring your Camp chairs, Sun Glasses, Shorts and be part of the Magic as the Mother of all Food Markets returns to the Soweto Theatre.

The following Covid-19 protocols for those with the unique opportunity to be part of the live audience will be adhered to:

  • All guests must wear masks and sanitise upon entrance into the Soweto Theatre.
  • Audience is limited to 500 outdoor capacity.
  • Health questionnaire screening at all entrances with a temperature check.
  • Each guest must produce their Identity Documents upon entrance in order to complete the health questionnaire.
  • Inside the venue, social distancing is strictly adhered to.
